You have a lot of choices in shoe color for navy blue clothing. Here are some pictures of a few options. Because, despite all the terribly serious talk about careers and lifelong satisfaction, the momentary glee of a good pair of shoes, matched perfectly for your circumstances and whatever you are wearing, cannot be discounted.
And why wear navy? Well, navy is the High WASP color of choice, right? Do you need proof? There’s no question that it’s the best suit color for women. As well as the perfect dinner party dress color. And, finally, the defining characteristic of the most beautiful, classic outfit to hit the runways in a while.

Love the Converse combination!
Hi! I'm new here and adore your blog :) I always go with red. I think it makes the navy pop, and there is something so crisp about red/white/blue that I just can't get away from. Then again…apple green always looks fabulous with navy too!
Bored. With. Converse. (Beyond bored with converse.)
Will you please get some Bensimons? They are officially everywhere.
I also <3 Tretorns, which may be more Waspy.
I am usually not a fan of any kind of sneaker but I gotta say I like the Converse better than the bensimons. They remind me of those awful sneakers we were lucky enought to have bought for us at TG&Y. Yeah, I'm old.

Yay for color.
Dusty Rose J. Crew Juliet pumps.
I like lime green & white with navy, orange & gold & white with navy, and white & yellow with navy. That's just color schemes.
As far as shoes? With a dress? Depends on the accessories but my favorite is navy/cream peep toe with heel.
with a navy dress i'd go with a dusty very pale pink or light brown heel depending on my tan scenario- must be peep toe. navy everything else i wear coloured (preferable patterned) flats (no pastels) but there *has* to be a flash of ankle in between the navy-ness and the shoe- i wear my trousers quite fitted. in winter i wear suede navy stiletto boots, or silver heels should the occasion permit.
i wear a lot of navy. clearly.
Navy inspires strong opinions, apparently. To almost-disagree with East Side Bride: things that are well-loved rarely become boring. I'm not a Converse person myself, but I know a few. And they have not been bored with Converse for twenty years.
I adore the first pair!
love that first dress with the peter pan collar.
I find myself wearing a lot of navy lately. I wholly blame you for this.
I am soooo not a WASP. Low or High. But, I love red with navy and orange and gold, as well as bronze too. I tend to use metallic shoes as a neutral.
My profound apologies Sweet T. However on you I bet it looks positively decadent.
I also forgot to mention in my other comment that I like to be patriotic and pair red with navy too. It seems to fresh in the summer. Also, to answer you question about wearing shorters dresses and skirts in India, it has become acceptable. However, there are certain area I wear capris and non-sleeveless tops.
Navy is my best color according to my mother, and confirmed by a Color Me Beautiful consultant in the 1980's. ("You own this color…live in it," she said.) I never wear red with navy, even on patriotic holidays. My choice for shoes with navy is navy, but they must be expensive shoes and the right dark navy. Years ago, I even had navy blue leather boots; sounds silly now but they were elegant.
