I never used to wear green. Yet now, for my daughter’s wedding (I know I keep talking about it but all I got is wedding, navy sweatpants, or the absolute horror that is America’s current regime, so) I’m doubling down.
The dress itself is a slip in something close to this color, but shiny,
with a calf-length silk organza overdress in the same hue. But transparent. I’m thinking of these earrings avec. (Miss Piggy isn’t the only one who likes to throw around a little Français.) I’ll be playing the role of a pink Baccarat turtle dove. (P.S. the dress requires a stick-on bra.)
However, I am pretty sure that ’round about the time I shovel the last bite of salad into my mouth I’ll be dying to undelicate gossamer my being. In other words, to fling off my gold heels and unstick. So I bought this cashmere sweater. It’s too blue-ish to match. It clashes, in fact. I love that for me. I plan to wear it over the slip in the smaller hours of the night,
with these shoes and stretch undergarments. (Here, but this version now only available in a few sizes.)
Pink and tan beige, forest green, and, what, pine green?–were the pine an off-piste descendant of a blue spruce. I’m going for languid, Jazz Age, leaning forward on my elbows missing only a dangling cigarette and crimped hair. A tired smile on my face.
Finally, because I must, please donate to the Brennan Center to give us the chance for a fair and peaceful future. In other words, allow us our right to elections. Thank you so much. You don’t even have to read the linked article.
Have a great weekend.

Beautiful shoes! Love the colours in the palette for your special outfit – relax and enjoy the moment, it will be something beautiful and special. May it be everything you hope for! Best wishes to the happy couple.
Hope you show us a peek of the entire ensemble after the big day! Have a wonderful time!
Donated. Looking forward to seeing wedding pictures! I don’t wear green much either but I love the shade you chose. I would wear that.
Keep talking about the wedding. I enjoy hearing about it as a pleasant diversion from the world’s events. Your color choices are lovely and the cashmere cardigan over the slip sounds like a perfect way to wrap up the special day. Congrats to the bride and groom.
You had me at, “calf-length silk organza overdress.” I’m here for the wedding posts. The horror of the current regime takes a significant amount of my attention. I’m grateful for a reminder that the world still spins in some places and ways without daily cruelty and madness. Your use of “off-piste” was entertaining, and the color and design of your dress sound beautiful. Sometimes the things that seem most to clash are our best choices. Thank you for focusing me on the Brennan Center. I’ve read of them before, but now I’m signed up to their site. I made a small donation in your name. It’s very small. Skye is getting an email.:) The number of worthy organizations and individuals who can use financial assistance for their work grows daily. It’s maddening to try to respond effectively when I understand the number of billionaires in the opposition. Tax the rich for safety nets, and outlaw billionaires. Thinking of you, and wishing you joy. xo.
Well of course! The color wheel does not lie when it shows your new auburn-ish hair will go perfectly with green!
The description of your MOB dress sounds not unlike your own wedding dress [so grateful for the Search feature at upper right corner].
In the “Who Knew?” department, who can guess which part of your anatomy calls for the stick-on bra? I’m guessing that, similar to your own wedding dress, the underslip is strapless, while the see-through overlay covers various other parts.
[Or, it could be like my own second-wedding dress: very high front neckline, no back. Heavily lined, I dispensed with bra altogether. Custom made, by me.]
YOUR SHOES ARE PERFECT !
If I read “your body keeps count” one more time I’ll…but this is why I’m concerned for all of us given the current state of global affairs. So, take special care of yourself, MOB, since you’re carrying a double dose on those shoulders right now.
