Good morning, everyone.
It’s a beautiful October here in the Bay Area. Our nights are dipping to the low 50s, days rising to the mid-70s, exquisite. And I am back to Saturday morning blogging.
Today I’ll be brief. When last we spoke, I was diving into two weeks of intense wedding preparation. Well, on Saturday, September 13th, my daughter got married. She has only a few sneak preview images back from the photographer, so I’ll hold off on a full post until I see what Melissa captured. But in sum, my daughter and her now-husband adored the wedding, as did we all. The ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt, the music evocative, the light perfect, the cocktails spectacular, the DJ attuned, the dinner delicious, the wines special, the dance party absolute revelry, the guests happy and festive and warm-hearted.
I do want to share two official photos, because I can’t wait. One before the ceremony at the Seal Cove Cypress Tunnel for a first look,

and one just after, at Mavericks House, Half Moon Bay.

(For those interested in details, my daughter’s dress was Newhite from Unveiled Bridal in San Francisco; her hair and makeup was by Carly at I See Wise; the flowers by Julie Martin at Willi Wildflower).
BTW, that’s me at the back in the green dress, clapping. I had perhaps left my body by then, but my hands still worked. The person holding the microphone? My son, the officiant. He was fully present.
As for snapshots, I love this one taken by a friend during dinner. Such happy smiles.

Even though that Saturday the sun came out just in time for the ceremony, our coastal evenings always get chilly. So right after my daughter chose her dress, I vowed to buy her the perfect topper. If I say so myself, this faux sherpa from H&M I killed it. She looked like a 1940s movie star.
And finally, another snapshot. Because we are friends, I’ll show you unprofessionally what I wore. Note: I did add a gold cuff later, but here I had just grabbed one of my daughter’s sweet friends and asked to take my picture. Sky was still overcast, then.

I found the dress at Kamperett, in San Francisco, and had the shoulder ruffles removed. I am not a prairie gal. Shoes: Malone Souliers.
These details are ephemera, although they appear concrete. The emotion of the day, the expressions on the faces of 150 guests, the feel of my daughter’s hand in mine as we walked up the aisle, those are what endure.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. My best to all and sundry.

Thank you so much!
What a wonderful day! Give my love to your kids and thank you for this glimpse into their adult lives. I’m so glad it went well. You sound like one happy mama.
Thank you. And yes, as you know, seeing your child happily matched is a very happy day:).
How wonderful. Congratulations to all. And both her dress and yours are perfection.
Thank you:)
Congratulations to the bride and groom! Everyone looked radiantly happy – loved your deep emerald outfit – so appropriate for a MOB.
Now you can rest and recover!
Am definitely resting and recovering, thank you:). Glad you thought the dress was MOB-appropriate. I was going for appropriate, but not a piece of furniture, if that makes sense.
Brava!

Awww, I love this!!! Such a joyful day, and you look absolutely beautiful. The happy smiles made my Saturday so much brighter. Thank you so much for sharing, Lisa. It’s great to have you back. Congratulations to all, and happy October!
Thanks, Jess. Happy October to you too!
Thank you for this wonderful glimpse. Congratulations all around!
You are more than welcome:)
Congratulations. The day looks beautiful in every aspect. You got a lovely Northern California coastal day. It’s a touching detail that your son officiated at the wedding of your daughter. The love within your family is evident in the details of the day. Your dress is gorgeous. Good call on removing the shoulder ruffles. Kamperett has ethereal pieces. I covet their Miller dress in black. It has been beautiful autumn weather in Seattle as well. Our nights are in the high forties (my sleeping ideal) and fifties, and our days are in the sixties and seventies. As I type this, the sun has come out from among the coastal clouds, and is applying warmth to our October day. Welcome back from your yearly pause. xo.
Thank you so much. Seattle sounds perfect itself, right now. The Miller dress looks like a classic! Such clean lines.
Hello Lisa, Congratulations on this warm and special event. Everything turned out just right. I wish a long, happy marriage to the new couple.

Thank you! When I have the official photos, I’ll see if I can do an official wedding post;).
Such beauty, such happiness, so many smiles – and your own dress is perfect! Your lovely Kate and her sweetie are off to a great start – with the BEST wedding dress jacket ever…
Thank you;). I only wish Dad could have been there. Gitta came, which was wonderful, but we all missed my mom and dad.
Congratulations! Thanks for posting this ray of sunshine. You’ve conveyed the feelings around a beautiful, happy wedding. Your dress is a gorgeous color and design. Glad you edited out the ruffles. Perfect find on that jacket for your daughter and an entertaining bit of high/low that it came from H&M. Once again sending best wishes for your beautiful, accomplished daughter and her handsome new husband. A happy marriage is a deeply satisfying way to live.
Thank you so much. Yes, a happy marriage is deeply satisfying, what a good way to put it. Not, “It takes work,” more like, “It’s a deeply satisfying project.”
Oh, it looks beautiful! The bride and groom look so joyful. And your dress is perfection!
Thank you! And I never would have considered green without your color consulting!
Fabulous!!
Every little detail!
Love you in GREEN!Very different from what you were trying on in the beginning!
The daughter is GORGEOUS as is the wrap!!
Nothing more special to a Mother than seeing her baby get married!!

What a happy day. Wishing the Bride and Groom a long and happy life together.
Your dress was perfect.
I love everything about this and you.
Joy, beauty, love.
Such beautiful memories of the day, Lisa. That shade of green is gorgeous on you and your daughter looks stunning (and so happy). Congratulations all around!
Oh my! Fabulous sartorial choices at every turn. And all of those smiles radiating deep love and happiness! The creation of a beautiful day that will live in your heart forever…just as it should.
All exactly as a wedding should be. Enjoy remembering.
My goodness, what a beautiful bride, mother of the bride, and setting! It looks like a beautiful day filled with joy. The very best wishes to all involved!
Great Dresses both Bride and Mother!
Everyone looks beautiful and more importantly, so radiantly happy. Well done!
I never saw so much love expressed between a couple, even their bodies align in synch in the photos [including the one on IG] – but it’s the “dip” that has me transfixed, his arms completely wrapped around her, holding her safe, eyes locked, love all over their faces. Siiiiigh.
The flowers are to die! How can I not notice the florist’s website byline: “Anti-Cliché Wedding Photography
for the Unconventional.” Died twice!
Everyone ahead of me in line here has already said it: PERFECTION all around. You did it, MOB; here’s to you, MIL! xo
Back to the “dip” pic…as I said, “transfixed.” But only now do I see that Bridegoom’s right leg is in perfect alignment with Bride’s right leg, making the perfect triangle [pictorial stability, Art History major] and, may I add: marital stability, ie I’ve got you, I’ve got you too. And who messed up my paragraph up there?
Oh so beautiful all!!! Congratulations. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to revel in the joy!
Beautiful wedding! The smiles of joy and love are beaming brightly.
You look lovely in emerald green and your daughter’s dress is spectacular.
Wishing the newlyweds every happiness.
The way I’m twitching with the urge to hug all involved right now, Lisa. My clan’s love to yours!
Oh, my goodness ! You all look fabulous! Looks like a perfect wedding day. Congratulations to all!
Love the green on you!!! Perfect. And what a vision your daughter was/is – and the setting! You outdid yourself with her fluffy jacket. Weddings can hold so much grace and love and hope plus dancing! Glad all went well. Also love your protest post reminder…
your daughter looks STUNNING! stunning!! such an elegant dress and fluffy jacket (well done, you).
however, and perhaps more importantly, what really comes through in the photos is happiness. yours, your daughter’s, your son’s, frankly, everyone. you can’t beat that.
congratulations. and apologies for taking so long to see this and comment. one of the downsides of cold-turkey quitting facebook is that i don’t see reminders and updates from my friend lisa. x
