Right about now, we could all use an unexpected helper.
This coleus, in situ on my front porch since September, has appreciated neither winter nor lack of water. However, you will also see above that Yellow Ranunculus has entered, cape flying.
Returning, unexpected, left over from a planting last spring. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and special kudos to all you volunteers.
Other, more intentional seasonal plantings, here. All on my front porch, over the years.

A very Happy Thanksgiving to you Lisa.
Happy Thanksgiving Lisa!
Your Yellow Ranunculus (I had to copy and paste since I know nothing about plants!) is beautiful. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday Lisa!!
And a Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, m’dear. The ranunculus is lovely. Reggie
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Lisa! Thank you for sharing a bit of your world with us all.
Happy Thanksgiving – I have a similar scenario on my balcony – it’s funny how under exactly the same conditions, some plants bloom & others wither.
I’ve loved this use of the word “volunteer” since my grandmother used to speak of such helpers back in my childhood. Such a wonderful personification.
Such a beautiful volunteer! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Happy Thanksgiving Lisa. The Rununculus will return, it’s a tuber. (somewhat perennial if the location suits.)
Happy Thanksgiving Lisa. Ida
Wiow………………..what sight for sore eyes. I bet your roasted brussel sprouts are really good (anyone reading this will think I am nuts). Happy Thanksgiving. XO
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
At least one of my yellow pear tomatoes that dropped on the ground during the summer has seeded, and I now have a smallish tomato plant trying to make a late autumn go of it. Hang In There, Little Tomato!
Happy Thanksgiving! Flowers here have been gone for a while. Your yellow rananculus is beautiful.
Happy Thanksgiving beautiful one. Hope your day was as bright and happy as the ranunculus.

What a felicitous combination of colors–bright yellow tingeing into green, and contrasting with the deep violet-blue. At the end of November, yet!

Wishing you Happy Day After Thanksgiving as yesterday was too busy to visit blogs. Ranunculus is second only to Peonies in my personal flower love hierarchy. Hope yesterday was joyful for you and your loved ones.
I luff coleus, it strikes so well from cuttings and really does well in a sub tropical climate.
Happy thanksgiving! Do tell how the WASPs do it xxx
