Privilege Blog

Technical Difficulties, Or, Saturday Morning at 8:22am

Excuse me while I try to figure out just what exactly has made my blog decide to display all wonky. Wherefore the gray? What has happened to the peaceful white background? If you’re reading in a reader, neveryoumind. If you’re on site here with me, don’t worry if stuff seem to be disappearing and reappearing. I’m going to try unpublishing some recent posts to see if I can find a culprit.

So, as I said, please excuse me. And have an absolutely wonderful Saturday.

  1. I think someone is playing with blog land. I will type in one size font and then find ONE word that is larger than all the rest upon publishing. Another friend has had trouble with spacing/indenting. You are not alone.

    1. So far I have had no luck finding the problem. I am trying to avoid calling in the big tech guns, AKA my brother-in-law:). Hope all your issues get figured out too.

  2. I probably wouldn’t have noticed if you hadn’t mentioned it. Yeah, a little wonky. Maybe it’s the server where the background is stored?

I only vaguely understand how this stuff works…

  3. Yep, I noticed but then figured “the Gods’ to not want you posting on Thanksgiving weekend. You’re supposed to be supine on your couch or out playing football. :) Happy Thankgiving!

  4. Gremlins.
In my yesterday comment there was the word “gasp” between two sets of less-than/more-than signs, yet it published as nothing but a silly diamond-shape hanging in space ;) Gremlins stole the diamond-encased gasp, leading me to suspect a coding issue. Oy! To all that. Good luck. I remain supine on the couch researching waterproof low hikers. May the force be with you.

  5. I can truly say “I feel your pain” after all of this year’s technical trauma. I hope it corrects itself and turns out to be nothing but a little blog burp.

    Sending you a smile,
    tp

  6. Yup, strangely grey, but at least you’re still here.

Earlier this year WordPress accidently locked my blog and didn’t get back to me about it for about 8 traumatising days. Six months of work down the drain in a twinkling! I did eventually get it back, but I skipped straight over to Blogger. I don’t think it looks as pretty or works quite as well, but at least they’re less draconian with the locking.

  7. Oh what fun…it looks like your theme has dropped the background color/graphic for one of your CSS divisions. Sometimes WordPress updates mess with WordPress themes – as I know to my own dismay. Good luck!

    1. Thanks! My wonderful brother-in-law fixed it, but next time I would absolutely to take you up on the offer, if you can figure out something else for me to do in return.

  8. You actually make it seem really easy together with your presentation
but I in finding this topic to be really something which I believe I would never understand.

It sort of feels too complicated and very extensive for me.
I am looking forward for your subsequent post, I will attempt to get the hold of it!
