A Few Sale Items From J. Crew That Are Worth A Look

Sales are weird these days. Seems like something’s always on, somewhere. In the face of overwhelming choice, lean on experience.

In other words, sale shop your tried and true brands. In my case, that’s J. Crew. They are currently offering an additional 25-30% off their Spring Sale section with code SHOPNOW. Shipping is free for any order over $150.

I know their cashmere isn’t the sturdy Scottish sort, but for not too much more than $100, you can be the lucky wearer of an orange featherweight cardigan. Cheery for transitional weather, killer paired with navy blue.J. Crew Featherweight Cashmere

Comes in pink too. Purple and mint are discounted further.

Or a Jackie cardigan. Merino. Something to spruce up the pencil skirt and tee you’ve worn 635,799 times.

Jackie Cardigan On Sale

I like this pleated silk dress, would be so pretty for my going-on-doctor daughter. Great reviews, apparently not as low-cut as the image would suggest.

There’s more on sale of course. Shoes. (Pink kitten heels!) And bags. But I’m working on the theory here that constrained choice is better choice, and one brilliantly-colored cardigan can be as fun and useful as an entire array of something elses.

  3. From the pictures I’ve seen of your daughter, that dress would be beautiful on her.

  4. I keep thinking I should like J Crew. But I never see anything I like when I’m in their store here in Ottawa… and the sales staff is not helpful…and that’s a euphemism. Although I just bought a new navy blue dress for summer and an orange cardi would be sooo lovely with… it as you say. So… like Fagin in Oliver Twist… “I’m reviewing the situation.”

  5. Thanks! I have colorful cardigans covered, so I picked up a classic navy blazer in lightweight 4-season wool. It’s the double-breasted one with 6 buttons. Lisa & All, a reviewer or two felt the placement of the top row of buttons at the bustline was a problem. The dark buttons aren’t as obvious on the navy as they are on the lighter colors, but if they’re oddly-placed, I’ll remove them or return/exchange. Thanks in advance for your help, navy blazer expertise seeming like High Wasp territory!

    1. Navy blazer is my home territory for sure. I’ve always had one, or at least, I’ve had one or another for at least 30 years. Hope yours works!

  6. Love cashmere although I have never purchased one from JCrew. The dress would be cute on your daughter with her colouring it would be very flattering.

    1. So I have heard – but for something on sale, in an unusual color that might be really fun for one or two years, seems to me like a good buy.

  7. I just bought [another] J Crew striped tee and a pair of their cropped Teddie pant in black. I usually stick to the basics, but I’ll spring for colorful shoes or a bag if it’s on sale. I for one, like J Crew’s cashmere. It’s in my price range.

    1. I would like another striped tee, or two, too. And I find J. Crew’s cashmere to be less sturdy, but right for the right purpose.
